Opening of Bukovinian information and communication Center of historical and ethnographic development of tourism in Chernivtsi

Openining of Bukovinian information and communication centre of historical and ethnographic development of tourism took place in Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University today.It should be mentioned that this center is opened within the framework of the project Heritage - operating program, common for Romania –Ukraine - Republic of Moldova 2007-2013, under theslogan “Common borders. Common decisions”, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University together with Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava will implement the project “Historical and ethnographic heritage – the part of continued development of tourism in Bukovina”.

As stated by the this project managers, the first result of creation of Bukovinian information and communication center of historical and ethnographic development of tourism is the development of common framework of tourist attractions, the basis of the work is laid by  numerous research explorations. In particular, as per Jeanna Buchko, assistant professor of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, project developers worked simultaneously in few groups and made about 200 surveys, resulting in exploration of more than 960 objects, however only 435 of those were recorded and marked in the map, others cannot be introduces right now. Especially difficult, Jeanna Ivanivna says, was to identify archaeological sites of tourist route.

Shtephan Purych, coordinator from Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, informed that at present 8 international, 2 regional and 2 for each city (Chernivtsi and Suceava) local touristic routes have been laid, which is a great achievement in this field, though the center has only started its work.
