Obnova-Fest

Chernivtsi hosted the 10 th ethno-spiritual festival “Obnova” on 27 May 2018. The festivity lasted all day. Guests visited various events: workshops on weaving, creating rag dolls (“motanka”), forging, Easter egg (“pysanka”) painting, decoupage, medieval games. Open spaces for children recreation functioned separately at “Obnova-Fest”. The Chernivtsi Academic Regional Puppet Theatre entertained children with Ukrainian fairy-tales in one of the playgrounds.
The festival “Obnova-Fest” targets the different-age category of admirers of spiritual and national values. There is a vast scope of Ukrainian ethnography. The festival program included ecumenic prayer, charitable actions, the performances of amateur and professional singing groups (folklore, dancing, theatrical groups), the display of works of folk craftsmen, exhibitions, touristic and sport attractions, art alive, flash mobs, subfestivals of martial arts, historical reconstructions, fire shows, handiwork workshops (embroidery, wood carving, pottery, wicker weaving, hay weaving, Easter egg painting, modern crafts, ethnic hairstyles, face painting, tapestry, pyrography, making rag dolls, decoration of scented toys), fashion shows, bookcrossing, “The Camp Plast”, “The Poet-Bard Scene”, “Cinema Mill”, “”Street University”.
Chernivtsi residents and city guests enjoyed the performance of Ukrainian rock bands Kozak-System, Mary, ethno-pop-rock band “KANA”, punk band “Pensiia”, bands Voanerhes (Kyiv), Koralli, Ustym Buk, etc. A ten-meter festival bonfire was lit at 1 a.m.
