The building was constructed by the project of Max Morgenstern. A three-storeyed building. The windows are decorated with pilasters, arches. In stucco the elements of Rococo are used. The house is adorned with the depiction of lion head (symbol of power). The ensemble of the building is complete with a tower. In 1909 Max Apisdorf and Volmann decorated and arranged here the “Habsburg” coffee house. It was a fashionable establishment for that time in biedermeier style that met the requirements of contemporaneity. Since 1919 a new ‘Grant” coffee house has been opened in its place. And from 1926 in the part of the house a branch of “Transylvania” bank operated, later an insurance bank, and from 1928 the railway ticket window, from 1934 – the branch of Romanian loan bank. Now here is the administration of the National Bank of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region. Architectural memorial of local significance.
