Description

The museum is placed in the house of Traian Brăileanu (1882-1947), a well-known sociologist. He obtained the title of PhD in sociology, in Chernivtsi, on November 30, 1909.The house in which the museum is placed proves the position that his family used to have, since it was a big house with 4 rooms, which is not specific for the other houses of Bilca area. The first room of the museum, the largest one, has a collection of documents and photos showing the involvement of the inhabitants in the events carried out over time. The other two rooms show the local popular costume, most of the exhibits belonging to early XXth century. The last room represents the kitchen, with all its cooking utensils. We think that this is a museum which deserves to be visited, whereas history and ethnography are smoothly combined.
