Description

The house in which the museum was created was donated to the local community by its owner, Mrs Leontina Țăranu. The dwelling was built before the first world war, the first owner being her mother-in-law, Țaran Sofia. The outside decorations were made by the unique master of the commune, Tomoiagă Dumitru. It is the first house, with traditional models, that has been built in the commune. She considered that both the house and the things gathered inside will bring an extra value for the young people keen to see the way their ancestors lived. This is a traditional house, in four slopes, made of wood and covered with shingles (spruce shingles). It has a porch and two rooms where you can find all the things that are necessary in day-to-day life. There are also present the popular costumes, the carpets on the walls woven in home, hand stitches, stitch carpets made in home to be placed on the floor, rugs, paintings.
