Description

It was built because the people of this community needed to participate in the religious ceremonies at the Călugăriţa convent. It was decided that in the year 1790, a wood church with the patronal feast day of the ”St Dumitru” to be built, and which was consecrated in the same year on Osoi Hill. The iconostasis was painted by Toader Zugravu and Maria, and in the year 1825 the church was enlarged by adding a narthex. Since the number oh inhabitants is increasing, in the year 1853 they bring a larger church that they consecrate in 1858. In the same year, they break apart the old church from Osoi and they gave it to the people of Sadău, keeping the iconostasis and the icons. The third church, which is still being used today, will be made out of brick in 1899 and sanctified on the October 7 by the metropolitan Vladimir Repta. The bell tower is built on three levels and was completed 11 years before the church, namely in 1888. Near the tower bell there is the chapel, the first school of Hordonic de Sus operated from 1858 to1860. The restoration of the church, tower bell and the chapel in stone dust was done between 1985 and 1986.
