Description

The small chapel of Dragomirna cemetery situated right in front of the walls was built in the year 1602 and is considered the monastery church on a miniature scale. In the year 1602, at the initiative of the metropolitan Bishop Anastasie Crimca, a small chapel was dedicated to Saints Enoch, Elijah and John the Theologian. In a few years the chapel became too small, and in 1609 the Bishop Crimca built a new church, with the help of the Great Chancellor Luca Stroici. Although small, the chapel was a novelty in plane and space. It has a round sanctuary, a rectangular nave and, instead of narthex, an exonarthex consisting of three parts. The chapel was made of brick and hard rock blocks. A decorative strip, consisting of three rows of green enamelled brick surrounds the building.
