On January 10th, 2013 “Yuriy Fedkovych” Chernivtsi National University is holding a press conference on the occasion of launching the project “Historical and ethnographic heritage - a component of sustainable tourism development in Bukovina” (HERITAGE), which will take place in the Red Hall of “Yuriy Fedkovych” Chernivtsi National University (Chernivtsi city) at 11 a.m.
The main objectives of the project include the promotion of historic and ethnographic heritage of Bucovina in the purpose of increasing the awareness of Ukrainian and Romanian citizens, and also the foreign tourists’ awareness about the historic and ethnographic potential of the region and increasing the number of tourists visiting Bukovina. The total project budget is EUR 1 474 463.00 (equivalent in grivnas - 15 526 095.39), including the budget of the project for Chernivtsi National University - EUR 934 466.00 (equivalent in grivnas – 9 839 926.98 ). 89.99% (EUR 1 326 869.25) of funding is provided by the European Union.
The project is being implemented by “Yuriy Fedkovych” Chernivtsi National University in partnership with “Stefan cel Mare” University of Suceava since May 17th, 2012 till May 16th, 2014 in the framework of the Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013.
During the press conference the coordinator of the project Ivan Vorotnyak together with project managers of different actions of activity and the project partners from Suceava will perform with reports of major events dedicated to the project, including laying of new tourist routes of internal and cross-border connections, elaboration of the database of historic and ethnographic objects and their placing at the website, launching of the project’s website in three languages, foundation of the Bucovinian Centre of Information and Communication and the Museum of historic and ethnographic heritage of Bucovina, holding of three-days International Ethnic Festival, elaboration and publication of the tourist magazine in 3 languages, the map of Bucovina in 3 languages, the promotional DVD about historic and ethnographic heritage of Bucovina.
There will be present the representatives of project’s teams of “Yuriy Fedkovych” Chernivtsi National University and “Stefan cel Mare” University of Suceava, the “Yuriy Fedkovych” Chernivtsi National University’s Rectorate, the Joint Technical Secretariat (Chernivtsi), and also the representatives of associated partners, Chernivtsi Regional State Administration and Regional Ethnographic Museum of Chernivtsi.
