Chernivtsi hosted the 10 th ethno-spiritual festival “Obnova” on 27 May 2018. The festivity lasted all day. Guests visited various events: workshops on weaving, creating rag dolls (“motanka”), forging, Easter egg (“pysanka”) painting, decoupage, medieval games. Open spaces for children recreation functioned separately at “Obnova-Fest”. The Chernivtsi Academic Regional Puppet Theatre entertained children with Ukrainian fairy-tales in one of the playgrounds.
On 22 April 2018 Taras Shevchenko Culture and Recreation Park hosted the 13 th Bukovynian tourist fair, which usually opens the summer tourist season. Owing to this event, tourists and guests can get acquainted with tourist-recreation capacities of Chernivtsi region and Chernivtsi, with the vacation on the basis of tourist resorts and mansions, gastronomic tours, thematic types of tourism.
On 20-21 October 2017 the International Festival of Mountain Professions took place for the first time in the village Myhovo, Vyzhnytsia district. It united the representatives from France, Poland as well as Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions.

On 18 May 2017 Chernivtsi traditionally celebrated International Vyshyvanka Day. On this day, which is celebrated yearly on the third Thursday in May, any volunteers can participate in the festivity by wearing a vyshyvanka (a traditional Ukrainian shirt) to work or school.
On 14 May 2017 Taras Shevchenko Culture and Recreation Park hosted the 12 th Bukovynian Tourist Fair, which is held for the presentation of the tourism potential of Bukovyna and popularization of recreational activity, and it opens the tourist season in the region.
The meeting of the Board of Tourist Cities and Regions was held in the Red Hall at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University on 19 December 2016. The First Vice-Rector of CHNU Roman Petryshyn, head of Regional State Administration Oleksandr Fyshchuk, head of Regional Board Ivan Muntian, head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Ministry of Economic Growth and Trade of Ukraine Ivan Liptuta, deputy head of the mayor Volodymyr Serediuk, head of the Tourism Department of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Volodymyr Furdyha participated in the opening ceremony of the Board and delivered a greeting speech.
On 1-2 October 2016 Chernivtsi had its celebration. The opening ceremony traditionally took place near the City Hall on Saturday morning. Within the celebration program different city locations had the City of craftsmen “Art Gathering”, the City for Children Recreation, sale of versatile products. Chernivtsi residents and guests were able to enjoy the honey and tea festival “Aromatic Autumn”, concert program of the students of musical schools and amateur clubs.
Traditional “Petrivskyi Fair” started officially on Saturday, 9.07.16. Within the framework of this traditional city celebration we observed an exhibition-sale of everyday use objects, presentations of local and national manufacturers, building industry, furniture, service, products of craftsmen, sports, entertainment and culture and art events.
