The international folklore-ethnographic festival

Within the framework of the
Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013,
under the slogan "Common borders. Common decisions", Yuriy Fedkovych
Chernivtsi National
Universityin partnership with
the University of Suceava "Stefan cel Mare" implements the
project "Historical and ethnographic heritage - part of sustainable
development of tourism in Bukovina» (HERITAGE)
MIS-ETC Code 829. This project was implemented in May 2012 and aims to promote
the development and improvement of infrastructure of historical and
ethnographic tourism by increasing tourist interest in border areas, either in
the North or in the South Bukovina. The
objectives of the project are to promote the historical and ethnographic
heritage of Bukovina aiming to raise awareness of citizens of Ukraine and
Romania and of foreign tourists about the historical and ethnographic potential
of the region and to increase the number of tourists, who visit Bukovina. The
total project budget is 1 474 463, 00 Euro. The project is financed
by the EU up to 90%.
One of the main objectives of the project is to promote the historical and
ethnographic heritage of Bukovina through conducting of the international
folklore-ethnographic festival, which is an important step for the promotion of
historical and ethnographic heritage of Bukovina and surrounding areas, and
will lead to increased competitiveness of Bukovina region and will cause the high rate of the guests’ tourist awareness. In pursuit of
this goal, Within the framework of the project HERITAGE, Yuriy Fedkovych
Chernivtsi National
University opens at 11 a.m, , 7/10/2015 the International folklore-ethnographic
festival. The event will be conducted on 10-12 July 2015. Everyone is invited
on the opening. The ethnographic ensembles from Ukraine
and Romania,
to 45 folk craftsmen will participate in the festival. It is expected that the
total number of participants of the ethnographic festival (ethnographic
ensembles and folk craftsmen) will be up to 375 people.The festival aims to popularize cultural
traditions, historical and ethnographic heritage of Bukovina
with the help of multi-component ethno-artistic arrangement in Chernivtsi, to
accumulate the best creative and cultural forces of cross-border territory,
active propaganda of local traditions. The main goal of the event - is
preservation, revival and popularization of folk art, increasing the role of
traditional culture in forming the worldview and spirituality, attracting the
wide public and creative intellectuals, establishing cultural relations,
creative collaboration of ethnographic ensembles and folk craftsmen from
different regions of cross-border territory. Simultaneously with the rapid
diversification of tourism either in North or in South
Bukovina, conducting of the ethnographic festival will increase
awareness of citizens of border areas and foreign tourists about the historical
and ethnographic potential of the region. This will lead to increasing the
number of tourists to Bukovina. Associate
