The wooden church of house type had been built in the city outskirts Selyshche by the “road to Horecha”. The temple was constructed by the canons of sacral art of those times. According to the architectural composition, it is a one-level building without dome, the walls of which are composed of oak beams into a blockhouse, and the roof is covered in shingles and crowned with three forged crosses. First, wooden belfry for three bells stood near the church, and stone belfry was constructed in its place in 1868, which was preserved until nowadays. The local legend call the church a “Cossack” one. Allegedly, the great hetmans Petro Sahaidachny during Khotyn war of 1621 and Ivan Mazepa after Poltava battle of 1709 prayed here in different times, and supposedly, the burial service for the elder son of Bogdan Khmelnytsky was held. The state preservation plaque bears the date of 1607, however some researchers attribute the building to 1748. A warehouse and a gym were established here in the 1960-s, and with the beginning of the independence of Ukraine the divine service has been resumed in the temple. The shrine has suffered greatly during the fire on November 21, 1992 (the roof and walls were being partially restored). The church is active. Architectural memorial of national significance.
