Description

Wooden church of a house type. Originally located on a square near the Turkish well. Built between 1709 and 1716 by decree of Moldavian gospodar Nicholas Oleksandr Mavrocordatos. Received a series of privileges from him and his descendants, that is why it was sometimes called a Household one or a Princely one. During the Austro-Hungarian times the church lost its privileged position, and in 1876 it was moved to the city outskirts Kalychanka. The temple has a pentahedral apse and a rectangular narthex. At the church the holy water for Epiphany is traditionally consecrated. Architectural monument of national significance.
