The museum is the depository of important historical and archaeological proofs of the genesis of Moldavia Medieval Village, the first residence of Moldavia Voivodate with important implications in the creation of the other Romanian provinces. The museum has an ethnography department presenting aspects of the dwelling, costume, customs and traditional trades, harbouring an ample ethnographic exposition, as well as cooperage objects and woven instruments.
