The church of Cajvana, covered in gold, is unique in Romania. Not only the roof, but also the crosses on the church’s bell towers are made of golden sheet metal, custom made and brought from Kiev. The stainless steel plate, ”bombarded with gold particles”, covering the church with the patron saint ”St. Archangels Michael and Gabriel” was brought from Kiev and it was mounted by the Ukrainian masters. Six porcelain chandeliers, unique in Moldova, are here. The largest chandelier has 270 kilograms and over 100 bulbs. The story of the golden church started last year, when ”two village sons”, business people, told the priests serving this church, the brothers Vasile and Iulian Davidoaia, that they have seen, in Kiev, churches covered in gold. They liked them a lot and they thought that they could help that the ”gold” from Ukraine to get on the church of Cajvana.
