Description

The National Festival of Decorated Eggs reached its Xth edition, which shows us that it progressed to its maturity stage. This is proven by the fact that in the period between two editions, the number of the participants has constantly grown, exceeding 100. The festival takes place on a yearly basis, around Easter, the date depending on the date of Easter, so that in 2014 it will be between 1st and 2nd of March. The decorated egg brought to be sanctified in the night of Resurrection proves the belief, the love and the respect the believers have in their spirit. In order for this occupation to be perpetuated at Ciocănești, it was established The Egg Decorating School, led by the most talented decorators. The school is attended by the children living in the locality, but also by the children who came from the country or from abroad. The festival program comprises decorated egg exhibitions, with the involvement of all areas still practising this craftsmanship, the egg decorating competition, traditional art exhibitions.
