Description

This locality is known for their pottery workshops which produce the famous black ceramic from Marginea. Evidences of its existence in Moldavia date back the bronze age (VIth century BC), being a high quality ceramic which is made by using a pottery wheel and having a grey-black colour. It is comparable with the ceramic encountered in other known centres in Europe (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania, etc.) or in the world (India, Egypt, Peru). The great varieties of objects that can be found here urge visitors to come and buy them. By coming here, they can see how these objects come to life by the hands of those who continue making this craft directly in the pottery shop.
