Description

A true cause for pride, both for the inhabitants of Moldovița, and for the entire country, is represented by Lucia Condrea Painted Eggs Museum, since its artistic value is inestimable. Considered as a unique place in the world, the museum came into existence in the year 1933 and bears the name of the artist who fully benefited from the one of the most significant traditions of the place: the art of egg painting. The museum exhibits over 1000 eggs both painted and decorated, more than a half being executed by the artist. The other eggs from the recesses (niches) of the museums were acquired by the artist from other decorators she had met during the international exhibitions. In the museum of painted eggs from Moldovița, the exhibits are arranged in recesses, by sections.
