Description

The cathedral is located in the middle of the town's park, being a monumental Romanian building. The building was started in the year 1927 and it was finalised only in 1962. The building is in the form of a cross, with a high plinth made of stone and two rows of windows. Above the roof’s corners there is a large dome, surrounded by six smaller domes. The dome has a unique architecture, in the lower part with a corridoire inside the church, limited by a double column ended by arcades joining the columns with masterfully carved chapiters. This is supported by consoles whose arch inter-crosses in the shape of ogival vault. This cathedral is one of the most beautiful religious buildings in the city.
