It was built as a result of the requests from the Catholic community. The Archbishop of Lemberg took all the necessary steps until he received the emperor´s approval on June 8, 1819. The construction was started a little late, in 1823, but it was partially finished in the year 1824, the sanctification taken place on the October 8. The completion of the construction and the sanctification took place on June 21, 1826, when it received the feast day ”The Assumption Day”. This place of worship was built in the Gothic style, being one of the most important and imposing building of Rădăuți. Since 2004, it has been introduced in the catalogue of Historical Monuments of Suceava county.
