Colibaba workshop. Constantin Colibaba (1900-1975)is the one who promoted this craft, which he have taken from his father. The inspiration comes from the ceramics tradition from the area of Rădăuți, but also from Kuty ceramics, making a creative synthesis regarding both tableware processing and decoration. The artist uses the entire range of traditional elements (aerated composition, yellow, green, brown on white-ivory backgroung colouring), giving them a modern interpretation. He uses also animals with fabulous human characteristics, thus creating a very funny dialogue with the person who admires them. In consistency with the tradition, Constantin Colibaba, transmitted this craft to his grandchildren, a craft which is succefully continued even today. Kuty ceramics: the drawing is made through incision (sgraffito technique), composition trichomy: yellow, green, brown to which is sometimes added blue-violet; a wide variety of ornaments (phytomorphic, zoomorphic, anthropomorphic , up to epic and narative compositions.
