Description

The building which is used today by the Museum of Nature Sciences of Suceava was built between the years 1811 and 1814, initially being used as headquarters of the Popular School (Hauptschule) of Suceava. Over time its was used by several educational institutions of Suceava. In the year 1976, the building was taken by Suceava County Museum and restored. Between the years 1976 and 977 it was used by the Museum of Nature Sciences. The building was restored and modernized between the years 1992-2000. The Museum of Nature Sciences of Suceava contains collections of mineralogy, petrography, paleobotanics, paleozoology, botanics, malacology, ethnomology, ornitology, mamalogy. It contains very rare collections from the museums all over the country: bark cockroaches, golden wasps, samples of paleoflora and mine flowers; Bukovina Flora herbar; macro mamals from the woods of Bukovina.
