Hanul Domnesc (the princely inn) from Suceava is one of the oldest civil buildings in the city. It has two floors (gorund-floor and first floor), built during different period of time. Between the XV-XVIth centuries, in this area there were crafts workshops (especially pottery). In the place of an older building, it was built at the end of XVIth century- the beginning of the XVIIth century a building with ground-floor and cellars. The building was used as a princely inn, harbouring important people, foreign travellers or chancellors. During the Austria occupation, in Hanul Domnesc it was arranged a hunting house for the Emperor's family members. Here it came the boyars and the Austrian dignitaries when they came back from hunting. The building was added a floor with four rooms, which could be accessed through an interior stair.
