Description

On the European Road E58, in Vama, you are waited to discover the most numerous eggs collection of Romania and one of the most important from Europe. The museum is an important objective which helps to discover the traditions of the area, the crafts of egg decoration, which travelled the world. The museum contains over 3.000 eggs from all over the world, exhibited in 22 display windows, eggs gathered during the 14 years of participating in international exhibits and lounges, as well as eggs from Bukovina, inherited from the grand-grandparents. An entire display window is dedicated to the eggs with old motifs from Vama, made with the help of ”old colours’’, ,,land colours’’. Another display window will show you again the colours of Vama, the eggs representing the work of the artist Letiţia Orşivschi. The second hall will take you to an imaginary journey around the world and you will discover the decoration styles and techniques from the 79 countries exhibiting in the museum display windows. Here you can see birds’ eggs, reptile eggs, large or small eggs (emu, rhea, turtle, crocodile, flamingo, gecko, ostrich, partridge, sparrow, dove).
