Description

The former building built in 1828 had the role to protect the mineral water spring. Due to the special interest in the mineral water treatment, based on the increasing number of tourists, in 1896 a new larger building was built, having a special architecture. The newly built building had rooms where the ill people could drink the water, from a natural spring, which was afterwards adapted. This building was also known as the „Treatment Hall”. The chemical analysis of the water was also performed in order to better know its usefulness. This new building fell smoothly in the context of the buildings situated in the area of the baths. The evolution of different historical events made that this building to be opened for public, between the two World Wars, and after the Second World War to be used by the Tourism and Treatment Office of Vatra Dornei. After 1989, unfortunately, it was used by different companies, and since 1995 becomes a private property, the owner making a lot of changes, the building losing its status of historical monument and disappearing from the architectural heritage of the town, due to inappropriate changes made to it.
